Dr. Yang is a Tenure-Professor and Director of Image-Guided Bio-Molecular Interventions Research, Department of Radiology at UW School of Medicine. Currently, he is also an Attending Physician of Interventional Radiology at UW Medical Center, and holds appointments as a Senior Lecturer of Radiology at Kuopio University in Finland and an Attending Physician of Radiology qualified in European Community Countries.
Because of his special background of both a physician and a scientist, Dr. Yang is functioning as a unique “bridge” linking the bench research and clinical practice. Dr. Yang has received over $10,000,000 funds from US National Institute of Health (NIH) and other funding agencies. As one of the pioneers, Dr. Yang has created several new concepts and technologies on medical imaging and interventional radiology in the world, including developments of intraluminal MR imaging and interventions for oncology, MRI-tracking of stem cells in different diseases, imaging of gene therapy, and interventional molecular imaging.
