Prof. Young-Cheol Chang
Prof. Young-Cheol Chang was born in South Korea and received his Ph.D. from Gifu University in Japan. He works for the Muroran Institute of Technology (http://www.muroran-it.ac.jp/en/), Japan. In addition, he has completed his administrative responsibilities as a Research Fellow at the University of Central Florida, USA. His research has included biodegradation of pollutants (Petroleum, chlorinated inorganic compounds; PCE, TCE, PCBs, endocrine disruptors; Bisphenol A, 4-tert-butylphenol, etc.), and lignin degradation and biopolymers (bioplastics) production. Based on this research and fellowship training, he has received several awards and honors, including the Prize of Secretary of Korea Ministry of Construction & Transportation and Secretary of Korea Ministry of Science & Technology. In addition, he is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology (Assistant Editor), Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology (Associate Editor), Processes and Water-energy Nexus & Expert Reviewers for journals like Energy and Environmental Science, Green Chemistry, RSC Advances, Bioresource Technology, ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, Chemosphere, Critical Reviews in Biotechnology, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Science of the Total Environment, Journal of Cleaner Production, Water Research, Molecules, Polymers, Royal Society Open Science, Bioengineering, Food Hydrocolloids for Health, Environmental Technology, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, etc. and serve as a project reviewer of the National Science Centre Poland.
