Prof. Dr. Yongyong Zhang
Prof. Yongyong Zhang is a Professor and Director of the Ecohydrology and Water Environment Research Laboratory at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on ecohydrology, integrated water system modelling, hydrological and biogeochemical processes, water quality management, climate change impacts, watershed management, and environmental sustainability. Over the past two decades, he has led numerous national and international research projects addressing water resources, river basin management, flood prediction, drought assessment, and ecosystem conservation.
Prof. Zhang is an internationally recognized scholar with an exceptional research record, having published over 200 scientific papers, including more than 110 papers as first or corresponding author. He serves on the editorial boards of several respected journals and has received numerous prestigious awards, including recognition as a Top 1% Highly Cited Researcher in 2024 and 2025. His contributions to integrated water system modelling, environmental impact assessment, and sustainable water resource management have established him as a leading expert in environmental science and hydrological research.
